Tinubu Appoints New CAC Chairman, Nominates Seven NPC Commissioners

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Senator Dr. Ibrahim Ida as the new Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

The President has also nominated seven individuals to fill vacant commissioner positions at the National Population Commission (NPC).

The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Senator Ibrahim Ida, a former lawmaker, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the leadership of the CAC, which is responsible for the registration and regulation of companies and business entities in Nigeria.

The nominations to the National Population Commission are aimed at strengthening the commission’s capacity to effectively carry out its constitutional mandate, particularly in the preparation for future national census and population management activities.

Further details, including the full list of the nominated NPC commissioners and their respective states of origin, are expected to be released soon.

The development is part of President Tinubu’s ongoing efforts to reposition key government agencies for improved performance and service delivery.
