Eight members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee in Taraba State have distanced themselves from a purported list of a new state executive committee circulated by former caretaker chairman, Dr. Victor Fallack.
In a joint statement released on Sunday, the signatories made it clear that the list which reportedly names Dr. Fallack as chairman and includes some of them as members was produced and shared without their knowledge, consultation, or approval.
The members firmly stated that they do not recognise the list and have formally dissociated themselves from it to prevent confusion and division in the party.
They described the former chairman’s action as a unilateral decision taken “single-handedly without consulting any member of the Caretaker Committee.”
The clarification, they said, was necessary to protect the party’s interests and maintain peace and stability in Taraba State.
The group reaffirmed their commitment as party stakeholders and citizens to fostering unity and peaceful political engagement.
They also praised PDP delegates across the state for their disciplined and orderly conduct during the recently concluded ward, local government, and state congresses.
“We want to thank all our delegates for the matured way they conducted themselves from the wards to the local government areas and the state congresses,” the statement noted.
The eight signatories are:
Terna Anzamber (Donga LGA)
Hikon Hosea (Wukari LGA)
Hamisu Maigari (Gassol LGA)
Zubulun Dauda Hamman (Karim Lamido LGA)
Yakubu Balutu (Karim Lamido LGA)
Hauwa Adam Imam (Jalingo LGA)
Ali Musa (Takum LGA)
Hon. Polycarp Apura (Ussa/Yangtu LGA)
The members reiterated their support for PDP unity in the state and urged all party faithful to remain calm as efforts continue to strengthen the party’s internal democratic processes.
