The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has mobilized over 2,000 personnel to maintain peace and security during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
In a recent statement, the Kwara State Command announced the deployment of 2,350 operatives across all 16 local government areas. This initiative, approved by State Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga, aims to safeguard critical national infrastructure, deter criminal activities, and protect residents before, during, and after the festivities.
The operation draws personnel from specialized units, including the Armed Squad, Operational Harmony, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Anti-Vandal Unit, and the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Unit. It is guided by intelligence-driven assessments, with a focus on identifying and monitoring flashpoints, high-risk areas, and vulnerable locations.
Area Commanders and Divisional Officers have been directed to intensify patrols, enhance surveillance, and respond proactively to any threats within their jurisdictions.
The NSCDC emphasized strong collaboration with other security agencies, local vigilante groups, and community stakeholders to achieve comprehensive coverage and swift responses. Residents are encouraged to stay alert and immediately report any suspicious activities or movements to security personnel.
While extending warm greetings to Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan, the command reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward any disruptions of public order, vowing decisive legal action against violators.
This proactive security measure reflects the NSCDC's ongoing commitment to ensuring a calm and enjoyable Eid-el-Fitr for all in Kwara State.
