NAF Strikes Terrorist Hideouts in Sambisa, Eliminates Senior Commanders

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under the Joint Task Force of Operation Hadin Kai, has delivered a major setback to insurgents with precision airstrikes that destroyed key terrorist infrastructure and neutralized several high-value targets in the Sambisa Forest.

The intelligence-driven Air Interdiction mission targeted terrorist positions in the Yuwe general area of the Sambisa axis on February 28, 2026. Confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) flights had earlier identified structures used as commanders' hideouts and logistics warehouses.

According to NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the strikes were executed with precision and overwhelming force, successfully dismantling critical terrorist facilities and disrupting their operations.

Post-strike assessments, supported by credible intelligence, confirmed the elimination of multiple senior commanders and fighters who were coordinating attacks in the region.

Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Aneke commended the aircrew and support teams for their professionalism and combat efficiency.

He reaffirmed the NAF's commitment to ensuring no safe havens remain for terrorists anywhere in Nigeria.

The operation shows the ongoing intensified efforts to degrade insurgent networks and support ground troops in securing the northeast.
