The Nigerian Air Force has successfully carried out a precision air interdiction operation in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State, destroying four terrorists' gun trucks along with several associated logistics assets.
The strike, executed by the Air Component of the Joint Task Force North East under Operation Hadin Kai, was intelligence-led and followed sustained aerial surveillance and credible intelligence on terrorist movements in the region.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, confirmed the operation disrupted the terrorists' mobility and highlighted the growing effectiveness of intelligence-driven airpower in counter-terrorism efforts across the North-east.
This action forms part of ongoing efforts to maintain pressure on insurgent groups, prevent free movement, and hinder their ability to plan or launch attacks.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reiterated the NAF's unwavering commitment to delivering decisive and sustained air support to Operation Hadin Kai, aiming to build on recent gains and promote lasting stability in the North-east.
The strike coincided with high-level operational engagements, including a visit by the Chief of Operations, Air Vice Marshal P. N. Amadi, to NAF Base Maiduguri starting March 11, 2026, to evaluate readiness and support for joint high-tempo missions.
Briefings from the Air Component and 105 Composite Group underscored the base's strong preparedness.Amadi also engaged with the Theatre Command Headquarters of Operation Hadin Kai to reinforce seamless integration between air and ground forces for improved security outcomes.
Earlier visits by other senior officers, including Air Vice Marshal M. C. Ekwueme of Tactical Air Command, focused on boosting troop morale and affirming dedication to operational excellence.
