Umar Jijiwa, APC Youth Advocate and Director-General of the Youth Jagaban Network, has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of deliberately reserving nomination forms for incumbent office holders ahead of the party’s 2026 National Convention.
Jijiwa made the allegation during a live appearance on Arise Television, claiming that many aspirants who paid for the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms were denied the physical forms even after completing payment and clearance.
According to him, when aspirants approached the organising department, they were told the forms had been exhausted despite the party having collected money from them.
“They are not sharing these forms. The forms are being reserved for those already in power, those already in situ,” Jijiwa said.
He expressed frustration that the process appeared designed to favour sitting officials and exclude fresh aspirants, particularly younger members eager to contest for National Working Committee (NWC) positions.
The accusation comes as the APC prepares for its national convention scheduled for March 27 and 28 at Eagle Square in Abuja, where new NWC members are expected to be elected.
Jijiwa’s claim adds to growing complaints from some aspirants who allege lack of transparency and possible hoarding of forms in the build-up to the convention. The party is yet to issue an official response to the allegation.
