The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) States Assembly Forum, Dagogo Fubara, has accused the party of denying aspirants nomination forms for the ongoing national convention despite full payment and clearance.
Fubara made the allegation on Tuesday during a live interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’.According to him, aspirants paid for the forms, fulfilled all necessary requirements, and were duly cleared in line with the convention’s rules and regulations.
“We were asked to go to the organizing department for the forms to be issued. We got there, they told me that they’ve exhausted forms,” he said.
Fubara noted that this was not his first time participating in a national convention, adding that the party claimed only limited copies of the forms were printed.
He expressed disappointment, recalling that the process had been in place since 2012 and that many, especially from the ACN extraction, had expected the convention under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership to provide opportunities for younger members to take up elective positions within the party.
“We all paid that money. They received the money and we went for clearance. We were cleared. We started this system right from 2012.
"So I was happy that this convention will usher a lot of youngsters to come in and serve this party… We’re surprised when some microscopic few in the system said the forms have been exhausted,” Fubara lamented.
The accusation comes as the APC holds its national convention in 2026, with the ruling party said to be targeting significant expansion, including welcoming a 33rd governor and aiming to reach 100 million Nigerians.
