The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has accused Governor Seyi Makinde of abandoning governance in favour of politics.
The party claimed that the governor has relegated his core duties as chief executive, leaving critical matters requiring his attention to focus on political activities.
APC chieftains in the state alleged that Makinde has prioritised political calculations and engagements over effective administration and delivery of good governance to the people of Oyo.
This latest criticism comes amid ongoing political tensions in the state, with the opposition accusing the governor of shifting focus away from developmental projects and public welfare.
The APC said the governor’s alleged neglect of governance responsibilities has become noticeable, as he devotes more time and energy to political manoeuvring.
The party urged Makinde to return to his primary assignment of governing the state rather than engaging in what they described as excessive politicking.
