The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has firmly distanced itself from any admissions into the Law programme at Lead City University, declaring them unrecognized and invalid.
In an official statement released by its Public Communications Adviser, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB emphasized that the university's Law programme remains under a five-year suspension imposed by relevant regulatory authorities.
As a result, the institution is not permitted to admit students into the programme until the suspension period concludes.
The Board revealed it has received numerous complaints and accusations of negligence, with some wrongly blaming JAMB for supposedly allowing these admissions to occur.
However, JAMB clarified that the reported admissions were not processed through its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) the sole authorized platform for all tertiary institution admissions in Nigeria.
"Such admissions are void as they are unknown to the Board," the statement stressed, describing the situation as unfortunate.
JAMB reiterated that any admission offer bypassing CAPS is illegal and holds no official recognition.
The Board has urged prospective students and their parents to exercise caution and verify admission status exclusively on the official JAMB portal before accepting offers or proceeding with registration.
This development serves as a strong reminder for candidates to rely only on CAPS-approved processes to avoid falling victim to unauthorized or fraudulent admission schemes.
