Governor Fintiri Visits APC Chairman, Pledges 85% Votes for Tinubu

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, paid a courtesy visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

The visit follows Governor Fintiri’s recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC in late February 2026, along with his entire cabinet, several commissioners, local government chairmen, and a large segment of the state’s PDP structure.

During the meeting, the governor reaffirmed his full commitment to the APC and declared strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

He assured Prof. Yilwatda that Adamawa would deliver at least 85% of its votes to President Tinubu and the APC in the next general elections.

Fintiri described his defection as a strategic move to strengthen the ruling party, advance national unity, secure long-term stability and development for Adamawa State, and deepen backing for the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda welcomed the governor warmly, describing high-profile defections like Fintiri’s as vital to building a more cohesive and formidable party ahead of future elections.

The courtesy call shows ongoing consolidation efforts within the APC, which has seen its governorship tally rise significantly following recent defections across several states.
