FULL LIST: ‘Gingerrr,’ ‘The Herd’ lead AMVCA 2026 nominations

The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) on Sunday unveiled the nominees for its 12th edition, with ‘Gingerrr’ and ‘The Herd’ leading the pack with 9 nominations each.

 

The nominees were announced live on Africa Magic channels in an event hosted by AMVCA-winning actor Chimezie Imo.

‘Gingerrr’ and ‘The Herd’ dominated the major categories, earning nods across acting, directing, and technical craftsmanship.

Following closely is ‘To Kill A Monkey’ with 8 nominations, while ‘My Father’s Shadow’ picked up 7 nominations across varied categories.

 

With 32 categories, including 18 jury-decided awards, 11 audience-voted honours, and three special recognition prizes, this year’s ceremony is scheduled for May 9, 2026, in Lagos.

Joke Silva, the veteran actress, was recently named head judge for the 2026 AMVCA.

Voting for the public categories opens at 8 pm on March 29 via here.
