Bandits Suspected of Killing Abducted NYSC Member After Family Pays N10 Million Ransom

The family of Abba, a serving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member who was abducted by bandits, now fears he has been murdered despite their payment of a N10 million ransom to secure his freedom.

According to family sources, all contact with the kidnappers ceased immediately after the ransom was delivered, sparking deep concerns that the abductors may have killed Abba rather than release him.

The family revealed that, following the initial payment, the bandits had demanded extra items, including motorcycles before they would consider freeing him. However, with communication abruptly ending, the family has refused to fulfill any further requests.

"Since the abductors received the N10 million ransom, they have completely stopped all communication with the family," a family source stated.

"In light of the silence and growing fears for Abba's safety, the family has begun preparations to perform his funeral prayer in absentia (Janaza Gha’ib) according to Islamic traditions.

"They plan to hold the prayer on Friday, March 6.The grieving family expressed heartfelt thanks to all those who rallied around them during this harrowing ordeal."

"Abba's family extends deep appreciation to everyone who provided support, prayers, donations, and words of encouragement throughout this trying time," they said.

"May Allah reward your kindness generously."They continue to hold onto hope, praying that if Abba is still alive, he will soon be released safely.

If he has been killed, they ask for divine forgiveness for any shortcomings, acceptance of his good deeds, and entry into Al-Jannah Firdaus, the family member said.
