Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano, has sacked Shehu Wada Sagagi as commissioner for investment, commerce and industry, “with immediate effect”.
The development was announced in a statement issued on
Thursday by Sunusi Bature Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson.
Sagagi has been directed to hand over the affairs of the
ministry to the director of commerce pending further directives.
Yusuf thanked the former commissioner for his service to the
state, noting his contributions across several sectors.
He said Sagagi played notable roles in politics, religion,
and the development of small and medium enterprises during his stint in office.
The governor also wished him well in future endeavours.
The statement added that the decision forms part of ongoing
efforts by the administration to reposition government structures for improved
performance.
It said the move aligns with the government’s broader goal
of ensuring “systematic growth and sustainable development” in the state.
The governor further reassured residents of Kano of his
administration’s commitment to efficient service delivery and good governance.
