2027: Uba Sani, Abbas Task APC Exco to Deliver 2 Million Votes for Tinubu

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas have charged the newly elected All Progressives Congress (APC) State Executive Committee in Kaduna to secure no fewer than two million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

The call was made on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, during the party's state congress held at Murtala Muhammed Square in Kaduna, where Isaac Atiku Sankay emerged as the consensus chairman of the Kaduna State APC.

Sankay, born in 1983 and currently serving as the Governor's Special Adviser on Peace and Conflict Resolution, was adopted after extensive consultations across the state's 23 local government areas.

Governor Sani described the congress as a defining moment that demonstrated the party's internal cohesion and democratic discipline.

“This congress reflects our internal cohesion and democratic discipline. It shows that Kaduna APC is united and prepared for the future,” Sani said.

He highlighted the party's strong grassroots structure, noting that 6,885 ward executives were elected across 255 wards, alongside 621 local government executives and 36 state-level executive members who were affirmed and sworn in.

Sani emphasized that the use of consensus in selecting candidates reflected political maturity rather than weakness, adding that the focus must remain on governance, development, and electoral success.“Our focus is governance, development and electoral victory.

"We must begin mobilisation from the polling units and ensure alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he stated.

Speaker Abbas urged the new executives to act swiftly, unite all party factions, and deliver substantial votes.

“You must deliver over two million votes for President Tinubu and the same for Governor Uba Sani in 2027. That is the task before you,” Abbas declared.

He praised the outgoing leadership for the party's successes in the 2015 and 2023 elections and expressed confidence that the ambitious 2027 target was achievable.

In his acceptance speech, new Chairman Sankay pledged to lead with discipline and deliver tangible results.

“I will serve with discipline, courage and measurable results. We will strengthen internal democracy, deepen grassroots mobilisation and create opportunities for youth and women participation,” he said.

The outgoing State Chairman, Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada (retd.), who served for eight years, expressed gratitude to party members and noted that he was leaving behind a more united and formidable APC in Kaduna State.
