Senate President Godswill Akpabio has called on the South-South geopolitical zone to deliver the highest number of votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Akpabio made this appeal during the All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South Zonal Congress in Asaba, Delta State, emphasizing that the region has been recognized and should not "carry last".
He expressed gratitude to Tinubu and the APC for producing a Senate President from the South-South after 45 years, citing Joseph Wayas as the last from the region to hold the position.
Akpabio assured that the APC has treated the South-South well, and the people have reciprocated by joining the party, with all six governors in the zone now aligned with the APC.
Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori highlighted the importance of the South-South region, stating it's the first time the zone is united under one party.
The congress re-elected Chief Victor Giadom as National Vice Chairman, emphasizing unity and readiness for the 2027 elections.
