Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, has appealed to his supporters to maintain unwavering commitment to their shared political vision.
Speaking on Monday during the annual Sallah homage at his residence in Kano, where he hosted thousands of loyalists, political allies, and prominent figures, Kwankwaso expressed deep gratitude for their steadfast support amid ongoing challenges.
In a post on his verified X account, the former Kano State governor highlighted the vibrant turnout and the presence of key personalities, including Kano State Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, federal and state lawmakers, former commissioners, and officials.
He extended special appreciation to party stalwarts, movement leaders, social media supporters, and entertainers who have tirelessly promoted the group's ideals.
Kwankwaso particularly welcomed the national leadership of the NNPP, led by National Chairman Ahmed Ajuji and Bishop Isaac Idahosa, as well as representatives from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kano.
The event was further elevated by the attendance of notable opposition figures: Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, along with their delegations.
Describing the Sallah homage as a cherished tradition of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Kwankwaso emphasized that the large gathering demonstrated strong unity and dedication.
He stated: “Special thanks go to all our party and movement stalwarts, as well as our committed social media lieutenants, for your relentless support, loyalty, and tireless efforts in advancing our shared vision.”
Kwankwaso added that the presence of such high-profile guests and the enthusiastic participation of supporters made the occasion especially memorable and reinforced the movement's resilience.
This message comes as political realignments continue ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Kwankwaso positioning his base for sustained engagement and potential alliances in the opposition space.
