Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has arrived in Benin City, Edo State, where he was received by Governor Monday Okpebholo and Senator Adams Oshiomhole.
The visit follows an invitation from Governor Okpebholo for Wike to officially hand over and inaugurate 54 units of heavy-duty construction equipment to the state's 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
The machinery, including graders, excavators, rollers, and similar equipment aims to boost infrastructure efforts at the grassroots level, such as road construction, rural access improvements, drainage works, and other community projects.
This initiative reflects the Okpebholo administration's focus on practical governance and empowering local councils for faster development.
The event at Garrick Memorial, Ekehuan Road, Benin City, underscores strong federal-state collaboration in driving infrastructural renewal across Edo State.
Top officials, stakeholders, and community leaders are attending the ceremony.
