Uzodimma Heads APC's 73-Member Committee for 2026 Convention


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a powerful 73-member Central Coordination Committee to oversee preparations for its highly anticipated National Convention, scheduled for March 2026.


Leading the committee is Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Senator Hope Uzodimma, who has been named Chairman. 


The appointment underscores his growing influence within the ruling party.Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who also serves as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), has been appointed Vice Chairman. 


Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, a former APC National Chairman, will serve as Secretary.


The committee brings together an impressive array of serving governors, former party leaders, senior lawmakers, ministers, and other key stakeholders, reflecting the party's emphasis on inclusive and strategic planning for the event. 


The convention, expected to hold in late March (with reports indicating March 25-28 or March 27-28), will address critical party matters following nationwide congresses.

This high-profile committee is tasked with coordinating logistics, ensuring smooth congress processes, and positioning the APC for a successful convention that will shape its leadership and direction ahead of future elections. 


The announcement, made by the party's National Working Committee (NWC), has been welcomed as a step toward unity and effective organization.
