A young man in his late 20s has lost his life in a fatal road accident on Sunday in Ndiolumbe autonomous community, Isiala Ngwa LGA of Abia State when a Toyota Camry Car on top speed crashed into the victim’s motorcycle.
The impact of the accident which happened at about 8am at Akpuruta along the busy Ururuka Road, threw the motorcyclist off his bike, leading to his his instant death.
A shop situated at the scene of the incident was also destroyed by the speeding Toyota Camry Car.
An eyewitness, who simply identified the Camry driver by his nickname “Star Boy,” alleged that he had been involved in several road accidents in the past and had purchased the Camry just a day earlier, on Saturday.
The eye witness also disclosed that the victim was the only son of his parents and was on his way to collect the balance of a work he did for his customer, when he met his untimely death.
Meanwhile, security men from Omobo Police Division took the driver of the Camry, Star Boy and his vehicle into their station to save him from a mob that gathered around the accident scene.
In a similar development, a 15-year-old girl, Amarachi Chidiebere, suffered abdominal injury after a Tipper Truck crashed into a Motorcycle that Amarachi boarded at the popular Ahia Orie market in the same Ndiolumbe autonomous community.
The accident happened when the Tipper driver was trying to avoid an old woman that was crossing the road.
The teenager who has so far undergone a successful abdominal surgery at Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Aba, is currently recuperating in the hospital.
Phone calls and messages sent to the Abia State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC Ngozi Ezeoma Sunday night about the accident were not replied at the time of this report.
