Security Operatives Arrest Suspected Bandits, Kidnappers in Benue State

Security agencies have arrested several suspected bandits and kidnappers in coordinated operations targeting criminal hideouts in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.

The suspects, allegedly involved in various criminal activities plaguing the region, were apprehended during targeted raids on hideouts within the council area.

Investigations are ongoing, with authorities confirming that the arrested individuals will face prosecution upon completion of preliminary inquiries.

Guma Local Government Council Chairman Maurice Orwough commended the security operatives for the decisive action, describing it as a "significant step towards reclaiming communities from criminal elements."

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to supporting security efforts through collaboration and logistical assistance, emphasizing that "maintaining peace and stability in the area remains a top priority."

The operations form part of intensified measures by security forces to address persistent insecurity in Benue, where residents have endured repeated attacks, kidnappings, and banditry in recent months.

Authorities assured the public that such efforts will continue to sustain law and order across the state.

This development comes amid broader security successes in Benue, including recent arrests linked to high-profile kidnappings elsewhere in the state, underscoring ongoing collaborative work among agencies to restore safety for communities.
