Remi Tinubu Pays Condolence Visit to Bukola Saraki Over Father-in-Law’s Passing

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, visited the family of former Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki to offer condolences following the death of his father-in-law, Otunba Adekunle Ojora.

In a post on X, Saraki expressed that his family felt deeply honored by the gesture. He wrote: “As we continue to receive condolence visits, today, my family and I were honoured to receive the First Lady, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who visited to offer her sympathies on the passing of my father-in-law, Otunba Adekunle Ojora.”

Otunba Adekunle Ojora, a respected Lagos businessman, industrialist, and traditional title holder (Olori Omo Oba of Lagos), passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 93.

He was laid to rest the following day, January 29, in accordance with Islamic rites at Ikoyi Vault, Lagos, after Janazah prayers led by the Chief Imam of Lagos.

An eighth-day Fidau prayer and reception took place on February 5 at Eko Hotel Convention Centre, drawing attendance from prominent figures across the country.

Saraki thanked everyone who has supported the family through prayers, messages, and visits, noting that these acts have brought comfort to his mother-in-law, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, his wife Toyin Saraki, and the entire Ojora-Saraki family during this period of grief.

President Bola Tinubu and former President Olusegun Obasanjo had earlier sent messages of condolence, describing Otunba Ojora as an exemplary leader and accomplished entrepreneur whose legacy continues to inspire.
