Oyo Police Arrest 3, Recover N31.75m Stolen Chicken Feed


The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three suspects and recovered goods worth N31.75 million after a gunpoint robbery on a truck driver.


The attack happened along the Coca-Cola area in Asejire, Ibadan, where victim Ezekiel Inije was ambushed by a five-man gang. 


Following a public tip-off, CP Femi Haruna directed the CP Monitoring Unit to act swiftly, using intelligence and tech to track the suspects to Oko in Ogbomoso.


Arrested suspects:

Chigbo Mesoma, 24 

Erondu Wisdom, 29 

Okechukwu Emmanuel, 25

 

Recovered items:

Howo Long truck (Lagos plate AAA 724 YJ) carrying 2,000 bags of Karma Agric Chicken Feeds valued at ₦31,750,000 

One cutlass 

Extra Lagos plate (LSR 339 XW)

 

Police PRO DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, in a Wednesday statement, praised the team's quick action and professionalism, thanking the public for their crucial information. "Community cooperation is key to fighting crime," he noted.


CP Haruna confirmed the suspects are cooperating and have confessed, with manhunt ongoing for the remaining two gang members involved in highway robberies and hijackings.


The command vowed to make Oyo unsafe for criminals and urged residents to keep sharing confidential tips.


This operation shows the power of public-police teamwork in tackling organized crime in the state.
