The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has declared that the ruling party now commands strong support among young Nigerians.
In an interview on TVC's Sunday Politics, Prof. Yilwatda revealed that 49.8% of APC members are aged between 18 and 35, describing the party as distinctly youthful.
He stated: “About 49.8% of our members, as of yesterday, are between the ages of 18 and 35. Our party is youthful, unlike before when we were deceived that most of the youths were with certain individuals. Now, we have proven to the world that most of the youths are with the APC.”
The chairman's remarks counter previous assumptions about youth political affiliations and highlight the APC's success in attracting younger members through its ongoing e-registration drive, which targets over 20 million members.
This development positions the party as a major force among Nigeria's youth ahead of future elections.
