Iranian Missiles Intercepted Over Dubai — Burj Khalifa Evacuated Amid Explosions

Iran launched retaliatory ballistic missiles and drones targeting U.S. military sites in the Gulf following joint U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iranian territory earlier today.

The United Arab Emirates, hosting key American bases, intercepted several incoming projectiles, with dramatic interceptions visible over Dubai.

Eyewitnesses reported missile trails and loud explosions across the city, including near the Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah areas.

UAE air defenses neutralized threats effectively, though debris caused incidents: a fire near a luxury hotel on Palm Jumeirah injured several people, and one civilian fatality was confirmed in Abu Dhabi from shrapnel.

As a precaution against potential falling debris or further risks, authorities evacuated the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, in Downtown Dubai.

Residents described seeing missiles in the sky near central landmarks and hearing blasts that rattled windows in high-rises.

The escalation disrupted aviation across the region. Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC) halted all operations indefinitely due to airspace closures in the UAE and neighboring countries.

Major airlines, including Emirates and flydubai, canceled flights, stranding passengers and affecting global travel.

U.S. officials indicated that Iranian responses could continue for days or weeks, with Tehran vowing ongoing operations.

The UAE Ministry of Defense condemned the attacks as "blatant" but reported no major damage to civilian infrastructure beyond interception-related effects.

This rare direct involvement of a Gulf civilian hub in the conflict has heightened tensions, challenging the region's reputation for stability.

Authorities advise residents to follow official updates from the UAE government, avoid travel, and monitor reliable sources.
