The governor administered the oath of office to the appointees during a brief ceremony at the Government House in Abakaliki, emphasizing that their roles demand dedication, integrity, and results-oriented performance.
“Today marks another step in strengthening our administration to deliver on the promises we made to the people of Ebonyi State,” Governor Nwifuru said.
“I charge you to bring your wealth of expertise to bear in your respective offices. This is not a time for complacency; it is a time to work tirelessly for the development of our state.”
Among those sworn in were two new members of the Ebonyi State Civil Service Commission, tasked with overseeing recruitment, discipline, and welfare matters within the state’s civil service.
Also appointed and sworn in was a Special Assistant, whose specific portfolio was not detailed in the ceremony but is expected to support key policy and administrative functions in the governor’s office.
Princess Nnenna Egbo was sworn in as Secretary to the Rural Electrification Board. She is expected to play a central role in coordinating efforts to expand electricity access to rural communities, a priority area for the Nwifuru administration’s rural development agenda.
The appointments are part of ongoing efforts to fill critical vacancies and reposition government agencies for greater efficiency and service delivery.
Governor Nwifuru reiterated his administration’s commitment to good governance, transparency, and inclusive development, urging the new officials to justify the confidence reposed in them by working in harmony with existing structures to fast-track progress across all sectors.
The swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by top government functionaries, family members of the appointees, and other dignitaries.
