Governor Makinde Commissions New Secretariat in Ibadan

Governor Seyi Makinde has officially commissioned a newly built state secretariat for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, describing the move as a milestone that signals the end of internal disruptions within the party in Oyo State.

The modern facility, fully built and donated by Governor Makinde, was unveiled and commissioned by the PDP National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN.

The chairman praised the governor's gesture as a clear demonstration of unwavering commitment to the party's growth, stability, and institutional development not only in Oyo State but nationwide.

Makinde declared that "sanity has returned" to the PDP in the state, emphasizing that elements responsible for past crises and indiscipline have been addressed, including through expulsions at the party's November convention.

He firmly distanced the Oyo State government from the PDP's ongoing internal legal battles and national leadership disputes, stressing that the judiciary remains the last hope for justice in such matters. In a notable tribute, Governor Makinde announced that the new secretariat would be named after former Oyo State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha (also referred to as Kunmi Mustapha), in recognition of his pivotal role in leading the party back to power in the state in 2019.

He also formally handed over the building documents to the national chairman for placement under the care of the party's Board of Trustees.

The event, attended by PDP national leaders, state executives, and party faithful, underscored the governor's continued support for the PDP and his resolve to protect the party from any attempts at hijack or destabilization ahead of future elections.
