Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has inaugurated 11 Local Government Area Coordinators for the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a key national programme aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The ceremony, held in Gombe, represents a major step in strengthening grassroots implementation of federal social intervention and empowerment efforts across the state’s 11 local government areas.
Governor Yahaya charged the newly appointed coordinators to ensure the initiative effectively reaches vulnerable populations, including women, youth, people with disabilities, and communities impacted by economic challenges. He emphasized that the RHI serves as a vital platform for translating federal policies into tangible benefits at the local level, reducing poverty, and promoting inclusive development.
The state’s RHI Coordinator, Dr. Aishatu Jibril Dukku (also referred to as Hajiya Aishatu Dukku), highlighted that the programme is a national social development intervention designed to support the federal government’s broader Renewed Hope Agenda. She noted its focus on empowering disadvantaged groups and addressing social dislocation through targeted interventions.
