Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Chancellor of Baze University, Abuja, on Thursday led a high-powered delegation to a working meeting with the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, to discuss the establishment of a new aviation training facility.
The proposed Baze University Aviation School is slated to be located in Bwari, Federal Capital Territory, and will include its own dedicated runway to support pilot training and other aviation-related programmes.
During the visit, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed presented the project's details, seeking regulatory approvals and support from the Federal Ministry of Aviation.In response, Minister Keyamo pledged the Federal Government's full cooperation and backing for the initiative.
He immediately directed the Permanent Secretary and relevant aviation agencies to expedite all necessary bureaucratic processes to facilitate the project's swift takeoff.
Keyamo shared details of the meeting on his verified social media platforms, emphasizing the government's commitment to advancing aviation education and infrastructure through such partnerships.
The engagement has been viewed positively by industry stakeholders as a step toward boosting local capacity in pilot training and reducing dependence on foreign institutions for aviation professionals.
