Dangote Cement Signs $1bn Deal with Sinoma for 12 New Plants Across Africa

In a major boost to Africa's industrial landscape, Dangote Cement Plc has signed a landmark strategic framework agreement worth over $1 billion with China's Sinoma International Engineering.

The deal, finalized in Lagos over the weekend, covers the construction of 12 new projects alongside expansions and modernizations of existing facilities in multiple African countries.

The partnership aligns with Dangote Cement's ambitious Vision 2030 goals, including ramping up its total production capacity to 80 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) by 2030.

This expansion is expected to support the broader Dangote Group's target of generating $100 billion in revenue within the same timeframe.

Key highlights of the agreement include:

A new integrated production line in northern Nigeria, complete with satellite grinding units.

A new line in Ethiopia.

Additional developments in Zambia and Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, and Cameroon.

Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, described the projects as "critical enablers" for strengthening market dominance in Nigeria, boosting export volumes, optimizing current assets, and driving overall efficiency and growth across the continent.

The collaboration with Sinoma, a long-standing partner in previous Dangote cement initiatives, underscores a commitment to large-scale industrialization, enhanced production capabilities, and deeper penetration into high-growth African markets.

This strategic move positions Dangote Cement to further solidify its leadership as the continent's largest cement producer while contributing to infrastructure development and economic growth in the regions involved.
