The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has inaugurated its newly elected local government chairmen, charging them to foster unity, inclusiveness, and diligence to bolster the party's strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the party secretariat in Gusau on Monday. The 14 chairmen emerged through consensus during the recent ward and local government congresses, which were conducted peacefully across the state's 147 wards and 14 local government areas.
Speaking at the event, the APC State Vice Chairman (often referred to in reports as Deputy Chairman), Hassan Marafa Damri, urged the new executives to treat all party members equally, promote harmony, and carry everyone along to ensure victory in future polls.
The state legal adviser, Ajiya Bukkuyum, also addressed the gathering, calling on the chairmen to institutionalize justice and fairness in their leadership roles.
The inauguration follows a successful congress process where executives at ward and LGA levels were selected by consensus, avoiding contentious elections and marking a step toward internal cohesion within the Zamfara APC chapter.
This development signals the start of renewed organizational efforts at the grassroots level in Zamfara and aligns with similar party-building activities across Nigeria as political groups prepare for the next electoral cycle.
