Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Thursday paid a working visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, commonly known as Aso Rock.
During the meeting, Governor Eno briefed the President on key developments and the overall state of affairs in Akwa Ibom State.
The visit reflets the growing alignment between the state government and the federal administration, especially following Eno's defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in June 2025.
The governor had earlier explained his decision to join the APC as a strategic move in the interest of Akwa Ibom State. He cited deep admiration for President Tinubu's leadership and the need to align with the centre to deliver more benefits to his people, while also providing support for Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Eno emphasized that the move was made "from a position of strength" after extensive consultations with stakeholders, and he reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving the people of Akwa Ibom diligently, irrespective of party lines.
