The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially launched its nationwide membership revalidation, mobilisation, and registration exercise, describing it as a key step to strengthen the party's internal structures and boost its grassroots presence ahead of future elections.
The flag-off ceremony took place on Thursday in Abuja, attended by members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across the country.
The event also included the inauguration of State Membership Revalidation, Mobilisation, and Registration (MRMR) Committees to oversee transparent and effective implementation at the state level.
In a statement, the ADC leadership emphasized that the exercise is a "strategic and transformative" initiative aimed at building a credible, updated, and inclusive membership database, deepening grassroots engagement, and repositioning the party for greater national impact.
A critical aspect of the drive is that newly issued membership cards will supersede and invalidate all previously issued ADC cards.
As a result, all existing and prospective members must complete the revalidation or registration process to retain active status and full party privileges.
The party urged widespread participation to ensure success and reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability, and coordination through the newly inaugurated state committees.
The ADC remains focused on deepening democratic values, expanding its membership base, and establishing itself as a stronger, people-centered political movement in Nigeria.
The registration process is expected to run nationwide across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with no fixed deadline announced.
This comes as the party positions itself for enhanced relevance in the political landscape, particularly with eyes on the 2027 general elections.
