Angry women from Abia North Senatorial District took to the streets today in a loud demonstration against Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, accusing him of delivering zero tangible constituency projects despite his long political career.
The protesters marched through parts of Umuahia, chanting "Enough is enough" and directly claiming that no single project has been executed in their communities under Kalu's tenure as senator. Videos of the protest, widely shared on social media and reported by outlets like Sahara Reporters, show the women expressing frustration over poor infrastructure, lack of basic amenities, and perceived neglect in areas such as Ohafia and surrounding communities.
The demonstration reflects growing discontent in Abia North, where Kalu, former two-term governor and current senator faces criticism for failing to bring visible development despite years in power. Some protesters linked their anger to broader issues, including past statements by the senator and upcoming political battles ahead of 2027.
