The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has explained that there are long queues at Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling stations because of the cheaper fuel price at N739 per liter.
The spokesperson of IPMAN, Chinedu Ukadike, disclosed this
in an interview with Nairametrics on Monday.
He noted that Nigerians like cheaper fuel prices.
According to him, it is impossible for other filling
stations and petrol marketers to sell petrol below the N739 per liter fixed
price by Aliko Dangote, president of Dangote Refinery.
’I don’t think so. Because when you go to any MRS filling
station, you will see a queue. If there is any other person who is selling
lower than that, you will see more queues. Actually, Nigerians like low-priced
petroleum products,” he said.
Recall that in December last year Dangote had announced a
fixed fuel price of N739 per liter for petrol, while other filing stations
dispense the product between N815 and N839 per liter.
