Aviation Minister and prominent APC figure Festus Keyamo has taken a sharp swipe at Labour Party leader Peter Obi and his loyal "Obidient" followers, sarcastically rebranding the movement amid ongoing political realignments and criticisms.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Keyamo referenced past statements by Obi, who had previously described certain political establishments particularly the PDP as a "structure of criminality."
Keyamo highlighted Obi's recent remark condemning abusive elements within the Obidient movement, where the former Anambra governor reportedly labeled those engaging in such behavior as "criminals," even as he referred to some critics or figures now aligned with him as "brothers" and "leaders."
Keyamo wrote:"1. Peter Obi said those in the Obidient movement who dare abuse the ‘structure of criminality’ (who are now his ‘brothers’ and ‘leaders’) are CRIMINALS. Fair enough.
"Therefore, the Obidient movement that has decided to embrace the ‘structure of criminality’ has now metamorphosed into what we should call the ‘STRUCTURE OF OBIDIENT CRIMINALS’. It is a fantastic fusion."
The comment appears to be a pointed jab at perceived inconsistencies in Obi's political positioning and the conduct of some of his supporters, especially as discussions swirl around potential alliances or shifts ahead of future elections, including 2027.
