Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed profound happiness on Friday as two of his children entered into marriage in a heartfelt ceremony at the National Mosque in Abuja.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Atiku announced the unions, describing the occasion as one that brought him "immense pleasure."
His daughter, Hafsat Atiku Abubakar, was given in marriage to Umar Farouk Imam, with the nikah (marriage solemnization) conducted under the guidance of General Aliyu Gusau, a close associate and longtime friend of the family.
Simultaneously, Atiku's son, Abubakar Atiku Jnr., married Asma'u Abdul'aziz Nyako. The groom was represented through Alhaji Kwairanga Jada, another friend of the former vice president.
Atiku highlighted the deeper significance of the marriages, noting that they would "further strengthen the longstanding family ties" with Admiral Murtala Nyako (referred to as his "older brother") and Kashim Ibrahim Imam.
He extended gratitude to all guests who attended, including Adullahi Umar Ganduje and other political allies who contributed to the day's success, while offering warm congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds.
