During the meeting, the Governor disclosed his recent decision to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following extensive consultations.

Mutfwang appealed to the Muslim leaders and the wider citizenry for their full support, stating that such backing would help the state secure greater benefits and dividends of democracy from the federal government.
In response, the Emir of Wase and Chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Plateau State chapter, Alhaji Muhammad Sambo Haruna, praised the Governor for convening the meeting, calling it a meaningful step toward strengthening unity and religious harmony.
The Emir commended Mutfwang’s ongoing efforts to promote peace and deliver developmental projects throughout the state.
He urged all citizens to uphold mutual respect, justice, and fairness, while reaffirming the commitment of Muslim leaders to support the Governor’s vision for peaceful coexistence, infrastructure growth, and political stability.
Other notable attendees, including Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir (Islamic scholar and National Chairman of the Council of Ulama Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah), Prof. Khalid Aliyu Abubakar (Imam at the National Mosque and National Secretary of JNI), and Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase (former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and Member representing Wase Federal Constituency), also lauded the Governor for creating the avenue for such interaction.
