Professor Muhammad Sani Bello, known by his traditional title Mainan Zazzau, has formally resigned his membership in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).Prof. Bello, a seasoned academic and politician, previously served as Kaduna State's Commissioner for Education, Commissioner for Information, and Director-General of Governor Uba Sani's 2023 gubernatorial campaign council under the APC.
In a significant development for the ADC, Prof. Bello has been appointed as a member of the party's national Constitutional Review Committee. This move is seen as a major enhancement to the ADC's intellectual depth and political expertise, particularly amid growing opposition dynamics in Kaduna State ahead of future elections.
The defection comes months after Prof. Bello's departure from the Kaduna State Executive Council in July 2025, amid reported tensions within the APC administration. His transition to the ADC aligns with broader political realignments in the state, where the party is gaining traction as an alternative platform.
