Governor Yahaya Meets AIG Zone 12, Reiterates Zero Tolerance for Crime in Gombe

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, held a crucial security meeting with Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 12, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, responsible for Bauchi and Gombe States, to tackle rising security concerns in the region.

The discussions followed a recent attack in Pindiga community, Akko Local Government Area, where gunmen killed two people and abducted three others.

During the high-level talks, the leaders assessed the state's security landscape, focusing on improving intelligence sharing, increasing police visibility, and bolstering quick-response mechanisms to avert future incidents.

Governor Yahaya reaffirmed his administration's staunch zero-tolerance policy toward crime, emphasizing that safeguarding lives and property is an absolute priority. He pledged full governmental backing to security forces, including all necessary resources to maintain peace and stability.

AIG Aliyu praised the governor's hands-on approach and ongoing support for law enforcement, assuring that police operations have been ramped up to apprehend the culprits and prevent recurrence.

He highlighted enhanced inter-agency coordination and the vital role of community intelligence in restoring order.

The AIG was joined by the Gombe State Commissioner of Police and other top Nigeria Police Force officials.
