Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and his Deputy, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, made a high-profile appearance at the ongoing Glory Reign 2026 programme hosted by Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The duo joined thousands of worshippers at the church’s headquarters for the annual spiritual gathering led by Senior Pastor David Ibiyomie, even as political tensions continue to simmer in the state over an impeachment threat hanging over the governor.
Governor Fubara arrived alongside other notable figures, including former Rivers State House of Assembly member Hon. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja and Chief Theodore Georgewill, among attendees drawn from within and outside the state.
Pastor Ibiyomie preached a message titled “Securing God’s Help Through Your Mind,” describing the mind as the central battleground of life.
He urged believers to guard their thoughts diligently, stating that “the battle of life is in the mind, and it must be adequately guarded.”
He outlined practical steps to engage the mind for divine intervention, including acquiring knowledge, meditation, disciplined thinking, creativity, studying, positive reasoning, and speaking life-affirming words.
The Glory Reign programme, which runs from Monday, January 19, to Friday, January 23, 2026, with evening sessions daily, has attracted massive crowds seeking spiritual renewal and elevation, in line with Pastor Ibiyomie’s pre-event declarations.
The governor’s attendance at the faith-based event comes against the backdrop of ongoing political developments in Rivers State, including persistent impeachment proceedings initiated by some members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
