The Borno State Police Command has achieved a significant security success with the recovery of a concealed cache containing 912 rounds of ammunition in the state capital.
According to Police Public Relations Officer ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the operation took place last Sunday following credible intelligence.
The Divisional Police Officer of Lamisula Division led a team to the Kumshe Jamba Mari area, where the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit secured the site and safely recovered 912 rounds of B32 API ammunition, caliber 7.62 x 51mm.
The ammunition has been secured, and investigations are underway to determine its origin, intended purpose, and to apprehend those involved.
Commissioner of Police CP Naziru Abdulmajid praised the public for their timely information and reiterated the command's dedication to intelligence-led policing.
He encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities to support ongoing efforts against insecurity.
