Suspected bandits have abducted a Baptist Church pastor, Daniel Bagama, along with his three daughters in a late-night raid on a village in Kaduna State, Nigeria.
The incident occurred around 11 pm on Sunday, January 18, 2026, in Tudun Bussa village, Chikun Local Government Area.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers stormed the community, fired sporadic gunshots to create panic, then headed straight to the pastor’s residence before whisking away the victims to an unknown location.
The abduction was confirmed by the Kaduna Baptist Conference President, Rev. Ishaya Adamu Jangado, in an official letter copied to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
He stated: “I write to inform you that bandits have abducted a Baptist Church Pastor, Pastor Daniel Bagama and his three daughters at Tudun Bussa village, Chikun local government area of Kaduna state.”
Rev. Caleb Ma’aji Bawa, the Kaduna State Chairman of CAN, also verified the incident when contacted.As of the latest reports on January 23, 2026, no official statement has been issued by security agencies, and efforts to reach the state police spokesperson were unsuccessful.
No ransom demands have been publicly reported.This latest kidnapping comes amid heightened insecurity in parts of Kaduna and surrounding northern states, where banditry, including attacks on communities and abductions for ransom remains a persistent threat.
The incident adds to growing concerns over the safety of religious leaders and vulnerable rural populations in the region. Authorities are yet to provide updates on rescue efforts.
