Army, Security Forces Rescue Eight Kidnapped Victims in Kaduna Forest

In a successful joint operation, troops from Sector 7 of the Nigerian Army's Operation OPEP, working alongside the Zango Kataf Police Area Command, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Forest Guards, and local hunters, have freed eight individuals who had been abducted and held in Badurum Kasa Forest, located in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The coordinated effort led to direct contact with the kidnappers in the dense forest, enabling the rescue team to secure the victims' release without reported casualties among the freed group. All eight victims were evacuated safely and unharmed from the hideout.

The rescued individuals have been identified as Mrs. Rashida Musa, Mrs. Hafsat Nuhu, Mr. Zakari Saleh, Miss Hasiya Yahaya, Mr. Ahmed Yahaya, Mr. Ibrahim Saiba, Miss Salma Yahaya, and Mr. Sophan Idris.

This rescue highlights the ongoing collaborative efforts by military, police, and community-based security outfits to combat kidnapping and banditry in Kaduna State's vulnerable rural and forested regions.

The victims are receiving necessary support and are expected to be reunited with their families following medical checks and debriefing.
