Suspected terrorists ambushed motorists on the busy Isanlu–Isin–Omu Aran road in Kwara State in the early hours of Monday, abducting at least four travellers.
The highway, a vital link connecting communities in Kwara South to the state capital, Ilorin, was the scene of the attack where armed men reportedly operated without hindrance, forcing vehicles to halt before selecting and whisking passengers away to an unknown destination.
A source close to the incident described the assailants as heavily present in the area, actively targeting travellers bound for Ilorin.
As of the time of this report, the Kwara State Police Command has not issued an official statement confirming the incident or providing details on rescue operations.
The abduction adds to a growing wave of insecurity in Kwara State, which has experienced multiple high-profile kidnapping cases in recent months.
