The Ukwa La Ngwa people of Abia State have donated ₦100 million to purchase the nomination form for Governor Alex Otti’s re-election in the 2027 governorship election.
The donation was announced on Friday, January 30, 2026, during a grand civic reception organised in honour of the governor at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
The event, hosted by stakeholders from the Ukwa La Ngwa nation which spans nine local government areas served as a platform to endorse Otti for a second term, citing his impactful leadership and performance since assuming office.
The Steering Committee for the Ukwa La Ngwa Civic Reception presented the cheque as a gesture to secure Otti’s “return ticket” with the Labour Party (LP), reflecting strong grassroots support amid early preparations for the 2027 polls.
In response, Governor Otti thanked the people for the warm reception and their endorsement, expressing appreciation for the collective show of confidence in his administration’s efforts to transform Abia State.
The move highlights growing momentum for Otti’s re-election, as various groups and leaders continue to rally behind his second-term bid.
It comes against the backdrop of his administration’s focus on infrastructure, security, and economic reforms, which have earned widespread acclaim in the state.
