Nkechi Blessing, the Nollywood actress, says she has been receiving a relentless deluge of marriage proposals and messages from strangers on social media.
The actress took to Instagram to share a video explaining that her
Facebook account, linked to her phone number, has become a source of daily
overwhelm.
She said she wakes up to find “thousands of messages” from
men across different ages and regions, all introducing themselves, questioning
her single status, and declaring their intent to marry her.
The situation, she lamented, has rendered her WhatsApp inbox
“chaotic,” with more than “5,000 unread messages piling up”.
Nkechi expressed frustration with her inability to curb the
onslaught, noting that attempts to remove or change her contact details on
Facebook have failed.
“This number they are calling me on is a number that I
cannot change. My WhatsApp is a mess. I have over 5,000 messages from different
types of men on Facebook on my WhatsApp. I am tired. How many be my body wey
over 5,000 men wan marry me at the same time,” she said.
While confirming she is single and a mother,
the 36-year-old actress firmly stated she is not seeking a
relationship.
“Please, I need help on how to remove my phone number from
Facebook,” she appealed. “I don’t know which video trended online. Please, I am
single, but I am not searching. Stop texting my number.”
In April 2022, Nkechi revealed she had ended her 10-month relationship with her
politician partner Opeyemi Falegan.
