2027: Wike, Fubara Can’t Deliver Rivers for Tinubu Without Rigging – Isaac Fayose

Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose and a vocal social commentator, has declared that neither Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike nor Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara possesses the grassroots support needed to secure Rivers State for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections without resorting to electoral manipulation.

Fayose made the bold claim in a video posted on his Facebook page on Saturday, January 10, 2026, while addressing the prolonged political crisis in Rivers State.

Speaking in a mix of English and Pidgin, he emphasized the lack of genuine voter backing for both leaders in delivering the state to the APC.Key quotes from Fayose include:“Make we no deceive ourselves. Both Wike and Fubara, none of them can win Rivers election for APC or Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 without rigging. The only person that can win Rivers State for Tinubu is INEC and the Police, not Fubara and not Wike.”

He further alleged that the ongoing feud between Wike (Fubara’s former political godfather and predecessor) and Fubara is not rooted in public interest but in a fierce struggle over control of the state’s vast resources and accumulated savings under the current administration.

“Wike and Fubara are fighting for Rivers’ resources. Fubara has saved a lot of money, and Wike is looking at this money. That is what they are fighting for.”

Fayose also predicted that if Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi contests again in 2027, the APC would struggle to secure even 25% of votes in Rivers State.

He dismissed recent political tours and outreach efforts by the rival camps as superficial attempts involving financial inducements, claiming they would not reach or sway enough voters.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions in Rivers State, including a fresh impeachment process against Governor Fubara by members of the State House of Assembly, many of whom are loyal to Wike.

The crisis has seen multiple reconciliation attempts, including interventions by President Tinubu, but hostilities continue.

No immediate response has been reported from Wike, Fubara, or the APC regarding Fayose’s accusations.

The remarks have sparked discussions online about electoral integrity, political loyalty, and the future of Rivers State ahead of 2027.

The video continues to circulate widely on social media.
