Nigerian Army troops have successfully rescued a 40-year-old man, Alhaji Shuaibu, just two hours after he was abducted by gunmen in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The victim, a Fulani resident of Yelwata community in Ardo-Kola LGA, was kidnapped around 9:05 a.m. on Wednesday, 11 December 2025, near Yaja village.Acting on credible intelligence, troops swiftly mobilised, pursued the kidnappers, and rescued Alhaji Shuaibu unharmed by 11:00 a.m. the same day.
Security sources confirmed that no ransom was paid and the victim sustained no injuries during the rescue operation.
The Army assured residents that the security situation in the area remains calm, with heightened patrols and vigilance to forestall further incidents.
The swift rescue has been commended as a demonstration of the military’s commitment to protecting lives and property in Taraba State.
