Troops intercept vehicles conveying suspected ISWAP logistics in Yobe

Troops from Sector 2 of the Nigerian Army, operating under Operation Hadin Kai and in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have successfully intercepted two pickup vans carrying assorted items suspected to be logistics supplies destined for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that the operation was triggered by credible human intelligence alerting authorities to the movement of suspicious cargo originating from Dapchi in Yobe State, heading through the Magumeri general area toward Borno State.

During the targeted interception, soldiers stopped the vehicles and took the drivers into custody for questioning.

Recovered items from the vans include:

  • 31 spare tyres
  • 23 spare rims
  • 2 bicycles
  • 12 key starters
  • 3 alternators
  • 2 bags of flour
  • 1 mattress
  • 5 bags of charcoal
  • 34 tubers of yam
  • 2 blankets
  • Nylon bags containing garri
  • Adult and children's clothing
  • 1 power bank
  • 6 mobile phones
  • N92,600 in cash

The vehicles and seized items are currently held in military custody as investigations continue to uncover the suspects' potential connections to ISWAP supply networks.

Military sources emphasized that such operations are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics chains and maintain security in the region.
