Senator George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), has married Queen Zaynab Ngohemba, formerly known as Olori Zaynab Otiti-Obanor, the ex-wife of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
The union was celebrated with a formal welcome ceremony for the bride into the Dajoh family home in Mbakor, Benue State, this December.
A viral statement from the Dajoh family expressed delight at the new chapter in Akume's life.
"We, the entire Dajoh Family, happily join our daddy, uncle and brother, His Excellency, The Secretary To The Government Of The Federation, Sen.
"George Akume Jugu Dajoh in welcoming his new and uncommon wife, Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George Akume Dajoh, into the Dajoh family," the statement read.
The family thanked Akume's supporters and political associates, urging continued loyalty as he begins this "beautiful union."
They also extended festive greetings, wishing Nigerians a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.
Queen Zaynab, originally from Edo State and previously known as Olori Wuraola, was married to the Ooni of Ife from 2016 until their separation in 2017 after 17 months.
She was welcomed into her new home with traditional cultural rites.The marriage marks a significant personal milestone for Akume, a veteran politician and former Benue State governor, who continues to serve in a key role in President Bola Tinubu's administration.
